Floral Rangoli Competition

To encourage creativity and artistic expression among students, Vivek Vidyalaya organized a Floral Rangoli Competition. The event aimed to promote cultural awareness and appreciation for traditional Indian art forms.

Competition Details:

- 4 Teams, each consisting of 7-8 students, participated in the competition.

- Themes: Onam celebration , festival and Indian Mythology.

- Materials allowed: Flowers, leaves, colors, and traditional Rangoli materials.

Happy Saturday: Fevicryl Pidilite Palooza

On 21st September, a 'Happy Saturday',

The Fevicryl Pidilite activity, conducted for standards 5-8, was a resounding success. Students showcased their creativity and artistic skills through various clay-based projects. Standard 5 students crafted personalized name plates using Fevicryl clay, demonstrating their fine motor skills and self-expression. Meanwhile, standards 6 and 7 students created tortoises on earthen diyas with clay, promoting harmony with nature and spatial reasoning. Standard 8 students took eco-friendliness to the next level by transforming used plastic bottles into unique face statues using clay, highlighting their innovative problem-solving skills.

The activity saw enthusiastic participation from over 5th to 8th grade students, with teachers appreciating their imagination, skill, and attention to detail. This engaging experience encouraged students to explore their artistic potential, fostering creativity, teamwork, and environmental awareness. The Fevicryl Pidilite activity proved to be an excellent platform for students to express themselves creatively while developing valuable skills.

The event was successfully coordinated by Art Teachers and Class Teachers (Std. 5-8). The materials used included Fevicryl clay, earthen diyas, used plastic bottles, and art supplies. The school looks forward to conducting more such activities, promoting creativity and eco-awareness among students.

हिन्दी दिवस समारोह 14 सितंबर 2024

हिन्दी दिवस समारोह 14 सितंबर 2024हर वर्ष की तरह इस वर्ष भी इंडियन बैंक के सहयोग से हिन्दी दिवस समारोह बड़ेधूमधाम से मनाया गया। इस अवसर पर निबंध लेखन, कविता वाचन, एक पात्रीय अभिनय जैसे अनेकस्पर्धाएँ आयोजित की गईं। जिनमें स्कैडों बच्चों ने पूरे उत्साह के साथ सहभाग किया। कार्यक्रम की शुरुआतमुख्य अतिथि और प्रधानाचार्या के द्वारा दीप प्रज्जवलन से हुई। इसके उपरांत पुरस्कार प्राप्त विद्यार्थियों नेअपनी कविता और अभिनय का प्रदर्शन अतिथि के सामने किया। प्रथम, द्वितीय, तृतीय तथा सांत्वनापुरस्कार पाने वाले विद्यार्थियों को इंडियन बैंक के सहयोग से आकर्षक पुरस्कार दिया गया। इस कार्यक्रम केमुख्य अतिथि सत्यम मिश्रा जी थे तथा विशिष्ट अतिथि के रूप में इंडियन बैंक के प्रबंधक श्री अंकुर सिंहशामिल हुए। मुख्य अतिथि सत्यम मिश्रा ने हिन्दी भाषा और संस्कृति के गहरे रिश्ते को उदाहरण सहित स्पष्टकिया। उनके द्वारा प्रस्तुत देशभक्ति गीत सुनकर श्रोता झूम उठे। वहीं प्रबंधक अंकुर सिंह जी ने बच्चों केकार्यक्रम की और उनके आत्मविश्वास की प्रशंसा करते हुए ज्यादा समय न दे पाने हेतु क्षमा याचना की।विद्यालय की प्रधानाचार्या श्रीमती श्रीजा मेनन ने हिन्दी दिवस का महत्व बताते हुए अपनी स्वरचित हिन्दीकविता प्रस्तुत की और विद्यार्थियों को इस अवसर पर बढ़-चढ़कर प्रतियोगिता में हिस्सा लेने का आह्वानकिया। उन्होंने मुख्य अतिथि का और विशिष्ट अतिथि का पुष्पगुच्छ देकर स्वागत किया तथा सफल कार्यक्रमआयोजित करने के लिए सभी हिन्दी शिक्षकों का आभार व्यक्त किया। कार्यक्रम का संचालन हिन्दी अध्यापिकाश्रीमती दीक्षा अग्रवाल और धन्यवाद ज्ञापन हिन्दी अध्यापिका श्रीमती बबली खरकवाल ने किया।

Speak Up, Shine On! Inter School Elocution Competition at Vivek Vidyalaya......

Sahshaleya Upkram KP West Ward English Elocution Inter-School Competition was held at Vivek Vidyalaya on 19th September 2024. The event was categorized into four groups:

Group 1: Juniors (Grades 5-8)

Group 2: Seniors (Grades 9-10)

Group 3: Higher Secondary (Grades 11-12)

Group 4: Teachers' Group (teaching in std 6th to 12th)

The competition commenced at 10:00 a.m. and was held in various classrooms. It witnessed enthusiastic student and teacher participation, and was successfully conducted. The students and teachers showcased their exceptional talents, delivering their best oratory and communication skills that impressed all in attendance.

"Bright Smiles Ahead: Free Dental Check-Up at Vivek Vidyalaya!"

The Dental Prism Team conducted a dental check-up at Vivek Vidyalaya as part of their community health initiative. The dental camp was a part of Anand Dayi Shaniwar (Happy Saturdays). It aimed at creating an awareness about dental hygiene and oral health issues among the students at an early date.

Students of standard 5th had participated in this check-up.

Teachers and other staff members were also incorporated to make coordination easy for the activity. The team presented their presentations on the fact that one should brush twice in a day, proper procedure of brushing, and role of diet intake in having good dental health, why regular dental check-ups are very important and also played an activity with the students asking them sweet tooth and bad tooth students enjoyed it for educational purpose. Later students were asked to be in their classes for smooth conduction of Oral Examination. The team conducted a proper dental examination, which includes oral hygiene, cavities, gum diseases, and other dental conditions of the students.

They found that many students suffered from small cavities and gum problems brought about by poor brushing habits and high sugar diet.

Few students were recommended to be consulted and treated for serious maladjustment to teeth, major cavities, and gum infections. They Recommended that

every six months it should be consulted with the dentist.

Adoption of proper oral hygiene practices.

Restriction on sweetie and drinks at least to some extent during tiffin time in the schools.

Involvement of parents to monitor their children's oral habits. Everything was clearly mentioned in their report and given to the students and they disturbed a certificate to the students.

The faculty and students appreciated the effort and enjoyed the educational session. The session created awareness about the necessity of regular dental care and early intervention to avoid long term dental problems.

This check-up not only gave immediate insights on the status of oral health for students but also fostered a culture of dental care and prevention in school.

A thrilling Ex Tempore competition was held at Vivek Vidyalaya on 29th July where junior and senior participants showcased their impromptu speaking skills

The competition required participants to speak on a randomly selected topic, without prior preparation It challenged the students to think on their feet and articulate their thoughts coherently

Vivek Vidyalaya Celebrates Teachers' Day with Enthusiasm and Gratitude

On 5th September 2024, Vivek Vidyalaya celebrated Teachers' Day with great fervor and enthusiasm in both its primary and secondary sections. The event was a testament to the students' appreciation for their teachers' tireless efforts and dedication.

The students' celebration began with a colorful assembly, where student teachers of standard 10th, taught the students of the lower class. Students presented handmade cards and gifts to their teachers. The parents also organized a game show, where teachers participated with gusto. A cultural event featuring dance performances, and a music concert was also organized.

Both sections came together for a Teacher's Day celebration, where parents organised games for teachers. Parents of the primary section performed a delightful dance showing gratitude to teachers. Teachers completed 30, 20 and 10 years of their service in this institution and were felicitated by PTA.

Vivek Vidyalaya's Teachers' Day celebration was a resounding success, showcasing the students' gratitude and appreciation for their teachers. The event reinforced the importance of teachers in shaping young minds and inspiring future generations.

Teaching with Heart, Leading with Soul.....Lions Quest Teacher Training Workshop 30th - 31st August 2024

A two-day intensive training workshop was conducted for teachers of Pre-Primary, Primary, and Secondary sections. The workshop aimed to equip educators with the knowledge and skills to implement the Lions Quest program effectively, focusing on social and emotional learning (SEL) concepts.

Teachers from all three sections actively participated in engaging sessions, group discussions, and activities, demonstrating their commitment to student development and well-being.

We appreciate the dedication and enthusiasm of our teaching fraternity and look forward to seeing the positive impact of this training on our students!

The explanation was done with a demo project and PPT.

Lokmanya Tilak Punyatithi Date and Time : Lokmanya Tilak Punyatithi is observed on August 1, 2024, to commemorate the 103rd death anniversary of Lokmanya Tilak. Lokmanya Tilak, born as Bal Gangadhar Tilak, was an Indian freedom fighter, teacher, editor, and writer. Programme Highlights:- Lamp lighting ceremony to invoke divine blessings done by Our Vice Principal Mrs Leena Nair madam and supervisor Mrs. Rucha Joshi madam.- Floral tributes to Tilak's portrait- Inspirational speeches on Tilak's life and legacy done in different languages i. e. English, Tamil, Hindi and Marathi.- Cultural programmes included song in Hindi and Marathi Powada, as well as mono act.- Handwriting competition was conducted in various languages English, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi and Marathi.-Vote of thanks given by Mrs Renuka Anil madam. Conclusion: The Tilak Punyatithi programme was a resounding success, paying tribute to the visionary leader who inspired India's struggle for independence. Ashadhi Ekadashi is an auspicious day of God Shri Vitthal. To make children aware of our tradition and the greatness of saints who emphasized social equality and tried to inculcate moral values. Ashadhi Ekadashi was celebrated on 16th July, 2024, with great enthusiasm in Vivek Vidyalaya and junior college. Bhajans and abhangas were sung by students. The atmosphere was filled with gaiety and spirituality. This celebration encouraged the students to participate in the rich cultural traditions of our country and learn more about their heritage. Vivek Vidyalaya & Junior College organised a Career Guidance session for our SSC students on 24th April 2024 at 8:00am with the collaboration of Terapanth Professional Forum Knowledge Bank hosted by Mumbai Western Branch organised by Utkarsh Career Counselling to our young minds so that they can connect their pathways. It was a wonderful session we had experts for various careers in Science, humanities, Commerce and Higher Education. The speakers were Dr. Madhavi Pethe, Former Principal of ML Dahanukar College, Mr. Mahesh Parmar, Senior Consultant of Higher Education and Mr. Nimesh S. Bumb, Founder of Master Bridge Education their words were enlightening and motivated. The session was timely and useful to the students.

_मराठी भाषा गौरव दिनविवेक विद्यालयातदिनांक २७/0२/२०२४ रोजी सकाळी ८.०० ते ९.३० या वेळेत मराठी भाषा गौरव दिन मोठयाउत्साहात साजरा करण्यात आला. या कार्यक्रमाला प्रमुख पाहुण्या म्हणून सौ. वैशाली निगुडकर उपस्थित होत्या. विद्यालयातीलविद्यार्थ्यांनी ढोल, ताशा लेझीम यांच्या गजरात पाहुण्यांचे स्वागत केले.विद्यालयातील इयत्ता आठवीच्या विद्यार्थिनी व उत्साही पालक सौ .वर्षा घाडगे यांनीकाढलेल्या सुंदर व आकर्षक रांगोळ्यानी सर्वांचे लक्ष वेधून घेतले. कार्यक्रमाचे अध्यक्षस्थान विद्यालयाच्यामुख्याध्यापिका सौ. शिजा मेनन यांनी भूषविले. कार्यक्रमाचे सूत्रसंचालनविद्यालयातील शिक्षिका सौ. शितल पेंडभाजे यांनी उत्तम प्रकारे केले. कार्यक्रमालाइयत्ता ६ वी व इयत्ता ८वी चे विद्यार्थी ,पालक व शिक्षक वर्ग उपस्थित होते. प्रमुख पाहुण्यांच्या हस्ते दीप प्रज्ज्वलन,ग्रंथ पूजन, कविवर्य कुसुमाग्रज यांच्या तसबिरीला पुष्पहार अर्पण करून तसेच मनप्रसन्न करणाऱ्या प्रार्थनेने कार्यक्रमाची सुरुवात झाली. मराठी भाषेचे महत्त्वइयत्ता सातवी - क ची विद्यार्थिनी कु.गौरी भोगले हिने सांगितले . मराठी साहित्यप्रकारातील भारुड हा साहित्यप्रकार विद्यालयातील विद्यार्थ्यांनी अतिशय मनोरंजकतेने सादर केला. मंगळागौरनृत्य, समूहगीत यासारख्या कार्यक्रमांनी मराठी भाषा गौरव दिनाची शोभा वाढवली.मराठीभाषा गौरव दिनानिमित्त विवेक विद्यालयाने विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी निबंध लेखनस्पर्धा, चित्रकला स्पर्धा,म्हणी पाठांतर स्पर्धा अशा विविध स्पर्धांचे आयोजन केलेहोते. या स्पर्धांमध्ये शाळेतील जवळपास सर्वच विद्यार्थ्यांनी सहभाग घेतला होता.विजयी स्पर्धकांना मान्यवरांच्या हस्ते मराठी पुस्तके व शालेय साहित्याच्यास्वरूपात बक्षिसे देण्यात आली. यामुळे विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये मराठी भाषेविषयी गोडीनिर्माण झाली. कार्यक्रमाचे आभारप्रदर्शन विद्यालयाचे शिक्षक श्री. रोहीत संख्ये यांनी केले. विद्यार्थिनींनी पसायदान सादर केले व मोठ्या थाटामाटात मराठी भाषा गौरवदिनाचा कार्यक्रम संपन्न झाला.

Dr AP Jayaraman: A great scientist cum story teller

On 4th December 2023 at 10 AM we had a session on Bio Acoustics and sound for grade 6. Dr A.P. Jayaraman, am eminent scientist (BARC) was present for the session. A small movie based on Bio Acoustics was also screened. Dr AP Jayaraman explained to the students about vibrations and how animals and plants of different species produce sounds of varied intensity.

Annual sports meet of secondary and junior college was held on 5th December 2023 at Prabhodan Krida Bhavan, Goregaon west. Vice President of VES Mr Ramchandran, Treasurer Mr Krishna murthy of Vivek Education society and administrator Dr Suresh Nair were present on this Occasion. Principal of secondary and Junior College Mrs Sheeja Menon, Vice Principal of junior college T krishnan inaugurated the opening ceremony of annual sports meet followed by sports oath taken by all participants, later sports meet was declared open by burning of torch , which was carried by Students council members. Teachers incharge of various sport events took up charge simultaneously and conducted the events smoothly. आजविवेक विद्यालय प्रांगण में हिंदी दिवस समारोह बड़े धूमधाम से मनाया गया । इस अवसरपर निबंध लेखन, कविता वाचन , एक पात्रीय अभिनय जैसी अनेक स्पर्धाएँ आयोजित की गईं।जिसमें सैकड़ों बच्चों ने पूरे उत्साह के साथ सहभाग किया । कार्यक्रम की शुरुआतमुख्य अतिथि और प्रधानाचार्या के द्वारा दीप प्रज्जवलन से हुई । इसके उपरांतपुरस्कार प्राप्त विद्यार्थियों ने अपनी कविता और अभिनय का प्रदर्शन अतिथियों केसामने किया। प्रथम, द्वितीय , तृतीय तथा सांत्वना पुरस्कार पाने वालेविद्यार्थियों को इंडियन बैंक के सहयोग से आकर्षक पुरस्कार दिया गया ।इस कार्यक्रमके मुख्य अतिथि राजभाषा अधिकारी डॉक्टर गुलाबचंद यादव थे। तथाविशिष्ट अतिथि के रूप में इंडियन बैंक के प्रबंधक श्री अंकुर सिंह और उनके सहयोगीसंदीप सिंह शामिल हुए। मुख्य अतिथि डॉक्टर गुलाब यादव ने हिंदी भाषा की वैश्विकस्थिति और उसके भविष्य को लेकर बच्चों का ज्ञानवर्धन किया । वहीं प्रबंधक अंकुरसिंह जी ने बच्चों के कार्यक्रम की और उनके आत्मविश्वास की प्रशंसा की। विद्यालयकी प्रधानाचार्या श्रीमती श्रीजा मेनन ने हिंदी दिवस का महत्व बताते हुएविद्यार्थियों को इस अवसर पर बढ़-चढ़कर प्रतियोगिता में हिस्सा लेने का आह्वानकिया। उन्होंने मुख्य अतिथि का और विशिष्ट अतिथि का पुष्पगुच्छ देकर स्वागत कियातथा सफल कार्यक्रम आयोजित करने के लिए सभी हिंदी शिक्षकों का आभार व्यक्त किया ।कार्यक्रम का संचालन हिंदी अध्यापक डॉ. श्री भगवान पाण्डेय और धन्यवादज्ञापन हिंदी अध्यापिका श्रीमती दीक्षा अग्रवाल ने किया।

The school staff were very helpful and accommodating. They made surethat I had everything I needed to teach the class. The children were veryenthusiastic and engaged in the activities. They were excited to learn aboutPidilite products and how to use them to create art.The atmosphere in theclassroom was positive and supportive. The children felt comfortable askingquestions and trying new things. The Pidilite staff provided me with excellentsupport. Overall, I had a very positive experience of teaching artwork tochildren at the school. I was very happy with the results of the activities.The children created some amazing artwork, and they were very proud of theirwork. The Punyatithi of the great legend and freedom fighter, Lokmanya Tilakwas celebrated on 1st August, 2023 by the secondary section,Vivek Vidyalaya and Junior College. The programme was started by offering a floral tribute to the photo of LokmanyaTilak by the headmistress of the school Mrs. Sheeja Menon. The lamp lighting ceremony and a smallpooja was also performed by school headmistress

Mrs. Sheeja Menon and viceprincipal Miss Renuka Deo. In theprogram organized to celebrate Lokmanya Tilak's Punyatithi , master varadTendulkar from standard 5th B presented a wonderful poem on the importance ofTilak's extraordinary work.Student of standard 8th A Kavya Patil spoke of the greatness of Lokmanya Tilak inher speech. Utkarsha Vanave from Standard 7th A graced the occasion byexcellently anchoring the programme of the Punyathithi of such a greatleader.The programme was concluded by the students of 7th E Jay Chougule,Nidhish Palav, Kasturi Gawade and Shravani Kadam, presenting a powada praisingthe works of Lokmanya Tilak.

प्रकृतिसंरक्षण विषय पर हिंदी नाटिकाविषय -जल प्रदूषणप्रतिभागी -7विद्यार्थीदिनाँक-28/7/23 प्रातः 9 बजेस्थान -विवेक विद्यालय, गोरेगांव (पश्चिम)आज दिनांक 28/7/23 को शिक्षा विभाग द्वारा आयोजित प्रकृति संरक्षण ' चला नदी ला जाणूया ' विषय पर आधारित हिंदीनाटिका ' जल प्रदूषण ' का मंचीकरण माध्यमिक विद्यालय के सात विद्यार्थियों केद्वारा किया गया। जिसमें छात्रों ने दिखाया कि किस तरह जीवन देने वाली नदी इंसानोंके कारण जहरीली होती जा रही है । इंसान खुद अपने पैरों पर कुल्हाड़ी मार रहा है ।इस नाटिका के माध्यम से बच्चों ने सीखा कि जल को संरक्षित करना कितना आवश्यक है औरजल प्रदूषण तथा नदियों की दुर्गति के लिए हम इंसान ही जिम्मेदार हैं।हम लोग अगर आज नहीं चेते तो आने वाला समयबड़ा भयावह होगा क्योंकि ' जल है तो कल है, वरना बड़ी हलचल है।'

As per the circular dated 7th July 2023 under the aegis of Swantantrachya Amrit Mahotsav - Chala januya nadila Abhiyan on 25th July 2023 Vivek Vidyalaya and junior college organised Adivasi Nisarg Sanskriti.

The students from std V to X beautifully presented the different tribal groups from different states of India.

The programme started from 7.30 AM

and lasted till 12.30 p. M.

There were 6 judges to judge different class groups.

A session was conducted on 13/06/2023 for the Secondary teachers by Mrs Harshada Thatte whois a counselling psychologist and a faculty of MPower, Mumbai. The session oriented the teachers towards an awareness regarding mental health in adolescents and removal of the wrong notions and social stigma connected to mental illness and the need to address them at the right time.

The significance of such a session dealing with the problems faced by the adolescents is well brought out when we consider that the maximum population facing mental illness are the adolescents and it is the same population whom teachers are directly associated with. The problems discussed were depression, anxiety, drug and alcohol abuse, etc.

Swardhara music Training attempt to incorporate music in the curriculum In an interesting manner using technology.Music Has long lasting effects on the personalities of these associated with it. Swardhara attempts to spread music literacy as a solution of various physical and mental illness by including it in regular curriculum and making it apart of daily life.

Mr Anol Mirzagaokar explained the purposeand scope of this scheme designed by his wife Mrs Gauri Kavi. Shraddha Deodar gave practical training of how to go about the lessons using the app designed for it, by the teachers.

A 20 minute meditation session called as Anapana meditation was conducted for students of std V, whereby they were taught to focus on their breathing.

It's a simple meditation technique in which students breathe in and out at a normal pace and concentrate on their breathing.

मराठी भाषा गौरव दिन मोठ्या उत्साहात साजरा

विवेक विद्यालय गोरेगाव ( प) या शाळेत दिनांक २७/२/२०२२३ रोजी सकाळी ८.०० ते १०.३० या वेळेत मराठी भाषा गौरव दिन मोठ्या उत्साहात साजरा करण्यात आला. या कार्यक्रमाला भाईंदर येथील रॉयल कॉलेजच्या प्राध्यापिका श्रीमती. मनिषा रावराणे व विवेक महाविद्यालयातील प्राध्यापक श्री. श्रीकांत मराठे सर प्रमुख पाहुणे म्हणून उपस्थित होते. कार्यक्रमाचे अध्यक्ष स्थान विद्यालयाच्या मुख्याध्यापिका सौ. शिजा मेनन व प्राथमिक विभागाच्या मुख्याध्यापिका सौ. जस्टीना रायप्पन यांनी भूषविले. कार्यक्रमाचे सूत्रसंचालन शिक्षिका सौ. मधुरा गोसावी यांनी केले. प्रमुख पाहुण्यांचा परिचय ज्येष्ठ शिक्षिका सौ. ऋचा जोशी यांनी करून दिला. कार्यक्रमाला इयत्ता आठवी व इयत्ता नववीचे विद्यार्थी, पालक व शिक्षक वर्ग उपस्थित होते.

दीप प्रज्ज्वलन , ग्रंथ पूजन करून, कुसुमाग्रज यांच्या तस्बीरीला पुष्पहार अर्पण करून कार्यक्रमाला सुरुवात झाली. प्रार्थना, गीत, भाषण इत्यादी सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम विद्यार्थ्यांनी सादर केले.

मराठी भाषा गौरव दिनानिमित्त विवेक विद्यालयाने शाळेतील विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी कविता वाचन, वक्तृत्व स्पर्धा, निबंध लेखन स्पर्धा व एकपात्री अभिनय स्पर्धेचे आयोजन केले होते. या स्पर्धेत शाळेतील जवळपास २०० विद्यार्थ्यांनी भाग घेतला होता. या स्पर्धेत प्रत्येक इयत्तेतील विद्यार्थ्यांनी बक्षिसे जिंकली. यामुळे विद्यार्थ्यांत मराठी भाषेविषयी गोडी निर्माण झाली. प्रमुख पाहुणे श्री. श्रीकांत मराठे सर यांनी मराठी भाषेचा इतिहास व संस्कृती जपण्याचा संदेश दिला तर श्रीमती. मनिषा रावराणे यांनी मराठी भाषेचा जास्तीत जास्त वापर करण्याचा संकल्प करावा असा मोलाचा सल्ला दिला. कार्यक्रमाच्या प्रमुख पाहुण्यांच्या हस्ते स्पर्धेतील विजयी विद्यार्थ्यांना बक्षिसांचे वितरण करण्यात आले. शाळेचे ज्येष्ठ शिक्षक श्री. मुझफ्फर सर यांनी सर्वांचे आभार मानले.आभार प्रदर्शन झाल्यानंतर विद्यालयाच्या उपमुख्याध्यापिका रेणुका देव यांनी पसायदान गायले. विद्यालयाच्या ज्येष्ठ शिक्षिका सौ. एव्हरीना, सौ. शीतल, सौ. मधुरा लाड,तसेच कला शिक्षक श्री. अनुप सर. आणि श्री. मंगेश सर व शिक्षकेतर कर्मचाऱ्यांच्या योगदानामुळे कार्यक्रम यशस्वी झाला.

Children learns a lesson on cyber security

A session on cyber security was conducted in the school on 14th Of December.

As the crime related to internet is growing day by day, the Mumbai police in association with the NGOs took the initiative to make the youngsters aware of the cyber security system. Children were taught about maintaining certain rules and regulations while using social media like not disclosing financial ans social status while making friends with anyone on social media. It was also specified that morphing others photographs, sending malicious emails or mocking someone on social media are a punishable offence. It was possible for the police to trace the people who creates fake IDs and indulge in such crimes. They also instructed the students that if they ever fall into such difficult situations they should immediately inform their parents or teachers in school. Towards the end there was an interactive session for the students whereby student were given an opportunity to clear their doubts.

Field trip to Eco farm Wada

On Friday 18th November field visit to an eco farm was organized for students of standard 10th. The bus departed at 8:30 AM and reached the destination at 11:30 AM. After reaching the destination there was an arrangement for the students to have their breakfast. Boys and girls were divided into groups. Boys were taken near the Bank of the river, whereas the girls were engaged in the activity. Which taught them the importance of the natural resources. The activities described that the human beings the wildest living organism try to snatch everything from nature as much as possible, due to their selfishness. Nature is in danger, following that the students were able to discover many fruit trees like banana, coconut , guava , mango and papayas. Also, medicinal plants like neem and curry leaves. Flowering trees like Mogra and hibiscus. Later on students were astonished by seeing birds like geese, turkey and animals like rabbits. After seeing the false sunflower the educationist gave them the valuable advice that even in nature, flower tried to duplicate themselves. Later, they were taken to show the process of water purification. Afterward, the students had their lunch and were taken to the Bank of the river. The student were delighted after fishing activity . The students reached the school at 8:20 PM from their first visit to eco farm till returning from it, the small place made the students closer to nature and gave them an experience of a totally different world.

This years Childrens Day was extra special as students celebrated this day after almost two years, thanks to the unprecedented pandemic. The joy and spirit could be felt and was visible everywhere in the premises of Vivek Vidyalaya. Children participated in large numbers in various events and expressed their happiness and shared their thoughts through these events.

In one of the speeches Miss Anamika Nair of std. V shared the reason behind this celebration and how Nehru advocated and gave importance Children’s Right. Students dressed in Nehru jacket with a red rose pinned to the coat seemed to be brimming with joy as they replicated their favourite leader. Songs were sung in praise of Chacha Nehru.

Chief monitors Mast. Rudra Tank and Arya Tikam read out the letters written by Nehru to young Indira, reminding the listeners of all ages about how we shape the world we live in through the choices we make. Every aspect of life was discussed through this – moral values, peace justice and respect for everyone.

Children gleefully drew paintings of Chacha Nehru thereby expressing their love for this great visionary. who taught them to dream big and who believed in them.

Principal, Mrs. Sheeja Menon wished her students on behalf of the Management and all the staff members and expressed her concern about children’s health due to lack of physical activities and over indulgence in electronic gadgets and requested elders to prioritize kids health and ensure their well-being so as to live the dream Chacha Nehru had envisioned.

Students of class 10th found this session to be a productive one. At first theygave us guidance on how to study they instructed us to make a small notebook and give us an activity to note down how we students spend our time next they told us to use our left hand to write. This trick is called 'Ambidextrous'. This activates our left side of the brain with writing with our right hand but writing with our left hand activate the right side of ourbrain they gave career guidance on what field is more suitable to achieveyour dream job they gave us an idea about which college will be the best according to our fields then they asked us if we had any doubts and we surely did they told us how our path would be if we want to achievea certain career they distributed a formula book for last minutes revisionand for our board exams. We really like this session.

Onam, the mostauspicious festival in Kerala was celebrated with full fervour and pop at VivekVidyalaya.

Every year at Vivek apookalam competition is organised for the students. Pookalam is an intricate and colourfularrangement of flowers laid on the floor.

The theme for thisyear's competition was ' Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

Students were excitedand enthusiastic and eagerly awaited for the competition to begin.

They grouped themselveshouse wise - Vindhya, Himachal, Yamuna, Ganga.

Each group comprisingof 8 students.

The judges Mrs BinduVarma and Nisha Pillai were both surprised to see the creative side ofstudents.

The principal MrsSheeja Menon summed up the whole event stating that such competitionssymbolises the spirit of unity and team work

Artis a natural human instinct to want to share his experience and emotions. When that instinct results in a beautiful creation, it is acknowledged as ‘Art’. Pidilite (Fevicryl Acrylic) Industries had organized different activities for students of Vivek Vidyalaya on 24^thAugust. They took the initiative of spreading the new mediums of painting with eco-friendly materials. The students were given instructions and demonstration by a team of 10 teachers under the guidance of Mr. Abhishek Dumbre who motivated the students to unleash their potential with their creative ideas on the topics given to them. Different grades were given different topics. For the students of grade 5-6 it was Ganpati mural with clays. Grade7students were told to prepare T shirt bags and for grade 8 it was umbrella design. The students were very eager and excited to try their hands in the different activities. Students participated in large numbers with great enthusiasm. The outcome was for all to see with smiles on the kids’ faces and black plain umbrellas turning colorful and bright.

More than 300 students participated in the run which is flagged off by the Principals of school and College and Dr. Vishakha Patel from MHSM enroute Siddharth Hospital, Best Nagar, Prabhodhan and back to Vivek.
